Asurion is an insurance company that has made its money selling mobile device protection. As the company looks 5-10 years down the road, how relevant will it be if they still only sell mobile device protection? With that in mind, we started to look for ways to expand their services while utilizing the company’s core elements (device protection and support services) – we arrived at Smart Home Support.
I designed the screens below as part of our POC pilot. We built out those user flows to see if there was an opening in the market for this product type. The pilot was very successful and eventually rolled out with Verizon and Sprint.
Following our POC’s success, Asurion double-downed on this product offering and decided to roll out a D2C pilot. A massive team is now working on this initiative that spans several of Asurion’s offices and orgs. During my time at Asurion, I led the design team for this product, with team members distributed in California, Tennessee, Virginia, Tokyo, and Tel Aviv.
