Asurion is a multi-billion dollar private company that drives a large percentage of its business through white-labeling its products and services (including phone insurance) through the major phone carriers.
The AT&T ProTech app is one of those white-labeled products and is a companion piece for AT&T customers who subscribe to one of AT&T’s mobile protection offerings.
Internally at Asurion, we referred to this app as our slim app because we intentionally released it with limited features. The apps main purpose was to enable customers to easily connect with a ProTech Expert (customer support) by either messaging or calling them directly within the app. The secondary objective was to drive targeted content to our customers that provide helpful tips.
Before I left Asurion, I was exploring integrating additional features into the app, such as a new home network analysis tool. Below are some mockups of those explorations.
